Despite all of the projects going on with me and Paweł I didn't abandon playing my beloved guitar rock music. In January 2003 we performed a gig at the Warsaw jazz club "Jazzgot" as a trio, as on the drums played Włodi Tafel, whom I had met during jam sessions at "Kopalnia", a great drummer and, by the way, a popular session musician. As far as the sound was concerned, we accommodated it in such a way that besides loops recorded beforehand the parts of live drums were played in such a manner that everything fitted together perfectly. Włodek added a lot to our sound. Most of all, he gave life to it, and so we decided to transform from the duet Radek Chwieralski & Paweł Gawlik into the trio called Scandal.
In the meantime, I started being active as a session musician in a studio with such performers as Piotr Bandzioch, Tomek "Kalch" Kalczyński, Katarzyna Litwiniak, Piotr Wasilewski, Michał Wiśniewski (Ich Troje). I also recorded guitars for illustrative music for TVP (the Polish Television). With one of my students, also the world-famous lawyer Piotr Nowaczyk, we recorded his composition "Jak dobrze mieć lat 50!", which up to this day can be heard in many radio stations around the world. Together with the "Analog" section (Paweł Gawlik and Włodi Tafel) + Krzysztof Kolanek (keyboard) we also performed at the final concert of W.O.łš.P. (The Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity) in front of Pałac Kultury i Nauki in Warsaw and in the studio of TVP at ul. Woronicza.
Paweł and Monika were still writing songs for Analog (I also made a contribution to one of them) and from February we started rehearsals in Warsaw at Iwicka street in Warsaw, where famous Polish artists also have their rehearsals. We played a number of concerts with Analog and won a few festivals. We also recorded the album which was released in November. |
